Christians in Tunisia, the pressure they face is widespread and constant. The
situation is particularly dire for Christians who have converted from Islam. It
can be dangerous to espouse their faith, so many believers are forced to
worship Jesus secretly. They must also be careful when gathering for worship—as
they are monitored by Tunisian security services.
Where is God at work in North
Africa?
In
North Africa, discipleship training is secretly happening as leaders look for
creative ways to continue their ministry during the pandemic. “Kabil” is one of
the key trainers who has taken to the internet to teach believers. He shares a
message after a training:
“Because
of the help these believers experience — because of your obedience to the
gospel by giving — they glorify God. They pray for you. Thank you for traveling
with us on this journey.”
Tunisia
is home to the ancient port city of Carthage, established by the Phoenicians in
ninth-century BC.

1: Pray with Christians in Tunisia who have converted from Islam. Ask God to
encourage them, even when they must follow Him in secret.

2: Pray for women who worry they will be forced to marry a Muslim man because
they have decided to follow Jesus.

3: Pray for the Tunisian government and society as political turmoil continues.
Ask God to prick the hearts of those in authority.

4: Pray Tunisians will be protected from political instability.
Day
5: Pray for Open Doors’ partners in Tunisia, that they’d be encouraged and
strengthened to continue doing God’s work in a difficult place.

6: Pray for discipleship training and leaders like Kabil. Ask God to multiply
the church.

7: Pray for the church to hold fast and keep their eyes turned toward Christ,
listening for His voice.
